ABOUT US
"Keeping the Culture Alive!"
In 1925, the Italian American Cultural Club was organized under the name of the "Steubenville Dramatic Club," an organization started by a dedicated group of Italian-Americans to be able to bridge the gap between the multitude of individuals that immigrated to the United States from Italy to their homeland. This organization was of vital importance during this time as individuals were torn between celebrating the culture and nationality of their new home; however, they were separated from the rich and vast culture that they originated from with little to no outlets here in the United States in the 1920s.

Over the years, the organization staged a myriad of performances including operas, dramas, theatre performances, concerts, and much more and was widely attended and celebrated by thousands of individuals in the tri-state area during that time. The organization was briefly integrated into the Columbus Dramatic Club, however, shortly after, the organization separated and remained independent, organizing under a new name of the "Italian American Cultural Club," indicating its expansion into more than just a performance-based organization and into one that celebrated the Italian Culture, Language, and Heritage in a myriad of ways.

In 2025, the Italian American Cultural Club celebrated a unique and monumentous milestone: one hundred years of operation in the preservation, promotion, and protection of the Italian Culture here in the Steubenville and Ohio Valley area.

In modern day, the Italian American Cultural Club remains strong and has introduced a wide variety of different programs for individuals of all ages. From monthly meetings to connect with like-minded people to the Campo Italiano and Scholarship Program for our young individuals to the fundraisers that we facilitate that allow us to bring together the vast amount of Italian Culture, Heritage, and Language that our area has to offer.
